After the mega hacks of last month, it is now time for Twitter. But there is a twist in this news. It seems that Twitter was hacked and the hacker managed to steal Twitter user ids and passowords of 32 million users. However, the news doesnt come from the dark web underground forums but from legitimate data breach reporting website which even offers you services of removing your name username and password from the stolen data base for free.
According to TechCrunch, the data comes from a Twitter hack in which 32 million Twitter accounts may have been compromised. The¬†incident and the news comes from a rather unusual source that lets you download such data and even lets you remove yourself from the¬†listing for free.
The website that seems to be making the most off it is LeakedSource. The site reported the same in a blog post stating that it received a copy of the leaked data¬†from a user called ‚ÄúTessa88@exploit.im,‚ÄĚ.

LeakedSource says that the Twitter ids and passwords are freely being traded on dark web underground forums.¬†The same source claims that about¬†32,888,300 records that contain email addresses, usernames and passwords have been leaked.

Twitter has not commented on the hack however it reached out to¬†LeakedSource¬†for further investigation in the matter.
